Men's Golf Opens Spring Season

The Middlebury men's golf team opened its spring season at the Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational hosted by UMass-Dartmouth at the Allendale Country Club. Trinity won the 18-team event with a two-day total of 606, followed by Babson (620) and Rhode Island College (621). The Panthers and Husson tied for fourth place overall, with each team shooting a 623.

Leading Middlebury over the two-day event was Reid Buzby, who carded a 154, including a 73 on Saturday to finish eighth overall. Tying for 12th place was Jeffrey Giguere, who shot a team-best 75 on day one, followed by an 80 to come in with a 155. Philippe Morin (78-81) and Jordan Bessalel (76-83) both placed 32nd, with each golfer coming in with a 159. Rounding out the team scorers was David Packer, who shot a 163 (84-79). Also competing as an individual was Bennett Doherty, who tied for 19th place overall with a 156 (82-74).
