Panthers Compete in Three Events On Second Day of NCAA Meet

The second day of action has concluded for Middlebury at the 2018 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, as the Panthers competed in three events. The four-day meet is taking place at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana, with Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation serving as the hosts. The third day of competition is scheduled to begin Friday with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m., while the finals are slated for 6:00 p.m.

During the morning's preliminary swim, the 200-yard freestyle relay quartet of Maya Gomez, Frances VanderMeer, Erin Kelly and Stephanie Andrews stopped the clock with a time of 1:36.19, good for 20th place. Later in the session, the 400-yard medley relay of Sarah Bartholomae, Gomez, VanderMeer and Andrews posted a time of 3:52.67 to finish 21st.

VanderMeer also competed as an individual, finishing 33rd in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 57.03.
