A pair of school records fell this weekend as the Panther track & field teams competed in two Boston-area meets. Middlebury took part in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center as well as the Gordon Kelly Invitational hosted by MIT. Both meets were unscored and featured athletes from all three NCAA divisions and international running clubs. The Panthers return to the track next weekend for the Division III New England Championships with the men hosting the meet and the women heading to Springfield.

On Friday at Boston University, Kate McCluskey set a school record in the 400-meter run, crossing the line with a time of 56.21 for 17th place. She lowered the previous standard of 56.43 set by Alexandra Morris in 2016. Also competing was the men's distance medley relay of Nathan Hill, Arden Coleman, James Mulliken and Kevin Serrao, as the quartet ran to eighth place in 9:58.61.

In Saturday's action at MIT, Minhaj Rahman erased a 19-year old school record in the weight throw. His runner-up toss covered 54'9.25", bettering the mark of 54'1.75" set in 1999 by Adam Dreiblatt.

Nathan Evans picked up an individual event title at MIT, winning the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:53.50. Other top-three efforts on the track came from Ascencion Aispuro with a runner-up finish in the 3,000-meter run (9:13.35), while Tyler Farrell was third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.77).

In the long jump, Max Memeger hit the sand at 20'3.5", good for third place.

On the women's side, top-three finishes came from Julia Jaschke and Elizabeth Walkes. Jaschke was second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:55.41, while Walkes wound up third in the 200-meter dash (27.45).

On Saturday at BU, the Panther women's DMR of Tasha Greene, McCluskey, Meg Wilson and Abigail Nadler finished eighth with a time of 11:52.53.
