Middlebury and Connecticut College (3-1-2, 1-1-2) battled to a 1-1 tie on Saturday afternoon at Dayton Arena. The fifth-ranked Panthers (3-1-2, 3-0-1) return to action next Saturday when they wrap up their semester at Utica.

Middlebury dominated the first period by outshooting the Camels, 12-4, and had its best chance to score when it had a 5-on-3 opportunity for more than a minute. Conn. College goaltender Carly Denora made two saves, and an additional two shots were blocked by Camel defenders.

The hosts were better in the second period, outshooting the Panthers by a 13-6 margin, but it was the visitors who were able to break the scoreless deadlock during a power play. Jenna Marotta had the puck near the left point and passed it down to Madie Leidt, who was stationed inside the left faceoff circle. She found Jenna Letterie, who finished by slipping the puck past Denora at the 15:15 mark of the frame. With her assist, Leidt now has points in all six games this season.

Connecticut College came out strong in the third period and was able to net the equalizer by applying constant pressure. Ellie Branka sent the puck in through traffic and found Jordan Cross, who redirected it into the nylon.

The Camels thought they had netted a go-ahead goal just minutes later when a shot by Natalie Witkowski found its way past Panther goalie Anna Goldstein. The officials, however, disallowed the goal by ruling goaltender interference. Nothing was decided the rest of the way, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Denora made 25 saves between the pipes for Connecticut College, while Middlebury's Goldstein turned away 27 shots on the other end. The Camels held a slim 28-26 shots advantage in the game.
