The Middlebury women's squash team posted a 7-2 home victory on Wednesday afternoon over #16 Amherst. The 15th-ranked Panthers return to the court Friday at 6:30 p.m. when they travel to Maine for a contest at Bates.

In Wednesday's victory over the Mammoths, the Panthers (3-2) tallied three-game wins in five of the seven matches in which they were victorious. Virginia Schaus got the hosts on the scoreboard at #6 (11-2, 11-5, 11-2) with a win over Priya Sinha.

Amherst (4-2) followed with its two points of the match. Kimberly Krayacich tied the match at 1-1 with a three-game victory over Middlebury's Alexa Comai by scores of 11-4, 11-5 and 11-8. Margaret Werner gave the visitors a 2-1 edge with a 1-11, 11-2, 11-9, 11-6 win against Natasha Lowitt.

Middlebury rattled off the next six matches during the win. Natalie Madden posted a narrow 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 victory over Madison Chen at #5, Lucy Bostwick got past Haley McAtee in the second slot (11-5, 13-11, 11-5), while Mira Chugh was victorious in four games against Pierson Klein at #8 (11-, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9).

Anne Glassie clinched the match for the hosts with an 11-8, 11-4, 11-8 triumph against Caroline Conway at #4. Beatrijs Kuijpers made it 6-2 with an 11-5, 11-2, 11-2 win in the top spot, while Emily Beinkampen completed the scoring with a four-game victory over Amherst's Katy Sabina Correia.
