The Middlebury men's golf team placed fifth among 19 teams competing at the Williams Fall Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club. Trinity won the event with a 584, while the Panthers came in with a two-day score of 611. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Trinity.
Jeffrey Giguere was the top Panther at the event, placing fifth overall with a two-day total of 146 (72-74). David McDaniel fired a 70 on day one, but wasn't as fortunate on Sunday, carding an 81 to finish in a tie for 14th place with a 151. Next for the Panthers was Joe Ko with a 159 (83-76), with Jordan Bessalel was one stroke back (79-81) with a 160. John Mikus rounded out the Middlebury golfers with a 163 (78-85) overall.
