4x400-Meter Relay Shines on Day One of NCAA Meet

The Middlebury men's 4x400-meter relay team highlighted action on a rain-soaked day one of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The three-day event is being hosted by the University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission at the SPIRE Institute.

During Thursday's preliminary run, the Panther quartet of Arden Coleman, James Mulliken, Jimmy Martinez and Alex Nichols posted a time of 3:13.16, good for fifth place. Running the nation's quickest time of 3:11.95 set during the Open New England Championships, the team will run for a national title on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

On Friday, the Panther men will be represented by Kevin Serrao who will compete in the 800-meter run. Serrao is seeded seventh entering the meet with a school-record time of 1:50.50 established during the Open New England Championships. Friday's preliminary run is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
