Middlebury concluded the non-conference portion of its schedule with an 18-10 road win Tuesday evening on Union's Frank Bailey Field. The visitors scored five of the game's first six goals, and opened the second stanza with four-consecutive tallies in the victory. The fourth-ranked Panthers (11-2), winners of five-straight contests, return to action on Saturday with a key NESCAC match-up at 10th-ranked Colby.

Middlebury took a 5-1 lead over the initial 8:16 of play in the opening half, highlighted by a pair of goals from Jenna McNicholas. The Dutchwomen (3-7) responded with three of the next four goals, including a pair of tallies from Hannah Rosenberger, to pull within two (6-4) with just over 10 minutes left in the first stanza.

Three-consecutive goals that spanned the next 6:08 of play for Middlebury by Emma McDonagh and MG Gately on free-position attempts, as well as a tally from Hollis Perticone, gave the Panthers a 9-4 advantage. Union scored just 23 seconds before the break, as Middlebury possessed a four-goal edge (9-5).

The second half started much of the same way for the visitors, as goals from Bea Eppler, Perticone, Sara DiCenso and McDonagh during the first 7:43 gave Middlebury a 13-5 lead. The Dutchwomen chipped away at the deficit over the next few minutes, slicing it to six (15-9) on a free-position tally from Cailin Pandolfi with 10:37 remaining.

Middlebury thwarted the comeback attempt, receiving a pair of free-position scores from Perticone as well as a tally from DiCenso over nearly the next eight minutes for an 18-9 lead. Union's Natalie Sullivan concluded the scoring with 1:18 remaining for the final 18-10 count.

Perticone finished with a game-best six goals, while McDonagh (3-1-4) and DiCenso (2-2-4) both had four points. Evie Keating concluded the game with three ground balls and a team-high three caused turnovers, Jessie Yorke scooped up three rollers and won two draws, while Susanna Baker collected three draw controls. Kate Furber (9-2) picked up the win in goal, making six saves in 47:47 of action, while Julia Keith logged the final 12:13 in goal for the visitors.

Rosenberger paced the Dutchwomen with five goals to go along with an assist, while Sullivan had four points on three scores and an assist as well as game-high four ground balls. Elena Driscoll finished with five draw controls, while Megan Fitzgerald caused three turnovers. Jen Hughes (3-7) made four saves between the pipes for Union in 48:34, while Ellen Taney played the remaining 11:26 for the hosts.

The Panthers held a slight edge in shots (28-25), draw controls (16-14) and ground balls (22-18) in the victory.
