Bowdoin's Annie Glenn scored 1:18 into overtime, lifting the 15th-ranked Polar Bears (6-1, 3-1) past top-ranked Middlebury 11-10 on Saturday in Maine. The Panthers tied the contest in the final seconds, but the hosts scored early in the extra session, bringing an end to Middlebury's 17-game winning streak dating back to last season. The Panthers (5-1, 3-1) face another tough test Monday, traveling to third-ranked The College of New Jersey for a 7:00 p.m. start.

The game was close throughout, with the visitors holding a 4-2 lead midway through the opening half on a goal by Hollis Perticone. Bowdoin's Hannah Hirschfield and Middlebury's Emma McDonagh traded goals, before the hosts finished the half scoring three of the final four markers. Each team tallied in the final minute, with Middlebury's Bea Eppler (:38) putting in feed from Mary O'Connell and Gallagher (:12) cashing in on a dish from Natalie Rudin for the Polar Bears, as the teams entered the half deadlocked at 6-6.

In the second stanza, the Panthers extended their lead to 9-6 with three-straight goals. Sara DiCenso and Perticone scored just over a minute apart and Henley Hall made the difference three with 21:24 remaining.

Bowdoin responded with four-consecutive goals with the last of those coming from Glenn, putting the hosts in front for the first time at 10-9 (8:22). Perticone forced overtime for Middlebury in exciting fashion, converting on a free-position attempt with 2.2 seconds left in regulation.

Glenn scored on the only possession in overtime after the Polar Bears won the draw control. The Polar Bear later was awarded a free-position attempt and she placed a shot in the top-right corner, handing the Panthers their first setback of the season.

O'Connell led the Panther offense with two goals and four assists, while Perticone tallied three times and McDonagh twice. Perticone added four draw controls and Delaina Smith led the team with three ground balls. Glenn netted three goals for the Polar Bears, while Kara Finnerty had three caused turnovers and three draw controls.

Kate Furber (3-1) made a career-high 11 saves for the Panthers, while Kayli Weiss (6-1) earned the win with four stops.

Bowdoin held a 28-19 advantage in shots and an 18-11 edge in draw controls.
