The 14th-ranked Panther women's squash team, seeded #3 in the NESCAC Tournament hosted by Amherst, advanced into the semifinal round on Saturday before falling to second-seeded and 10th-ranked Williams by a score of 8-1. Middlebury earned a bye through the first round, and posted a 9-0 victory over sixth-seeded and 19th-ranked Tufts in the quarterfinal round. The Panthers (9-8) return to play on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the third-place match against fourth-seeded Bates, ranked 15th in the latest national poll.

In the quarterfinal, Middlebury picked up eight of its nine victories against Tufts in three games. Victories came from Anne Glassie (11-5, 11-8, 11-3), Alexa Comai (13-11, 11-3, 11-4) and Liddy Renner (11-3, 11-4, 14-12) in spots two through four of the ladder. Mira Chugh (11-3, 11-9, 13-11), Lucy Bostwick (11-2, 11-4, 11-3) and Audrey Ellen (11-7, 11-7, 13-11) earned victories at #5, #6 and #7. Caroline Jahrling was victorious in the eighth spot (11-5, 12-10, 11-5), while Natasha Lowitt posted a triumph at #9 (11-8, 11-3, 11-2).

Beatrijs Kuijpers needed four games to tally the Panthers' ninth and final team point atop the ladder (11-9, 11-5, 9-11, 11-6).

Against the Ephs in the semifinal, Chugh picked up the lone win for the Panthers with a five-game triumph at #5, battling back from a 2-1 deficit. Kuijpers, Comai, Renner and Bostwick all took a game from their respective opponents.
