Middlebury won its fifth-straight game, as the 16th-ranked Panthers (18-3, 6-2) cruised past Bowdoin (11-10, 2-7) by a score of 87-57 on Saturday afternoon in Morrell Gym. Middlebury dominated the boards in the game, holding a 50-31 advantage. The Panthers return to action next Friday when they host 11th-ranked Amherst at 7:00 p.m.

Middlebury never trailed during Saturday afternoon's contest. After an early exchange of baskets, the visitors went on an 11-0 run, spurred by five-straight points from Jake Brown, to take a 15-4 lead just six minutes into the contest.

The lead stayed in double digits for the remainder of the first half, as the Panthers carried a 46-33 edge into the locker room, thanks to 12 first-half points from Brown.

Bowdoin squandered a chance to claw back into the contest in the opening moments of the second half, missing their first seven shots of the stanza.

Middlebury took advantage of Bowdoin's slow start and opened the frame on a 13-4, pushing the lead to 22, 59-37, following a Jack Daly three-pointer with 15 minutes remaining. The Panthers pushed their lead to as many as 34 points in the second half en route to the win.

Matt St. Amour and Brown tied for team-high honors with 16 points apiece, as Brown dished out eight assists and St. Amour grabbed 10 boards. Eric McCord finished with 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while Nick Tarantino netted 10 points and pulled down six rebounds. Daly added 11 points, six assists and five boards in the win.

Tim Ahn paced Bowdoin with 16 points, Jack Simonds scored 11, while Jack Bors added nine. Hugh O'Neil grabbed eight rebounds, while Neil Fuller had seven.
