Middlebury increased its winning streak to nine with a 6-2 NESCAC victory Tuesday over eighth-ranked Williams on a rainy and windy Kohn Field. The second-ranked Panthers (13-2, 9-1) will be the top seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal game on Saturday, while Williams (11-4, 6-4) will also participate in a quarterfinal.

The Ephs opened the scoring 2:23 into the contest when Libby Dolan tapped in her own rebound for her 17th goal of the season. A little under two minutes later, Lauren Schweppe blasted in a shot as part of a penalty corner for her fourth goal of 2017. Annie Leonard made it a 2-1 Panther advantage when she tapped in a cross from Erin Nicholas at 12:19, while Emma Johns gave the hosts a two-goal edge with her third of the fall at 14:55.

Williams' Hannah Goodrick cut the Panther lead to 3-2, redirecting a cross on the near post for her fourth goal of the season at the 30:10 mark.

Under a minute later, Nicholas dribbled up the right side, blasting a shot just past the leg of Eph goalie Abby Lloyd for a 4-2 lead into the halftime break.

Out of the intermission, Middlebury scored 15:27 into the second stanza when Grace Jennings tipped in a shot by Marissa Baker for her third tally. The Panthers concluded the scoring when Nicholas dribbled down the right into the arc, pulling the ball back and around Lloyd for her seventh of the campaign.

Panther goalie Abby Furdak (10-1) earned the win with five saves, while Lloyd (4-4) finished with eight stops for the visitors. Middlebury held a 21-10 advantage in shots for the contest.
