Middlebury split a pair of matches during women's squash action on Saturday at St. Lawrence's Robie Squash Center. The 14th-ranked Panthers opened action with an 8-1 setback to #12 George Washington, but rebounded for a 7-2 victory over the 19th-ranked Saints. The Panthers (8-4) conclude a challenging weekend schedule with a road contest on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. against #9 Dartmouth.

In the day's first match against the Colonials, Middlebury's point was recorded by Lucy Bostwick at #6 in four games (11-13, 11-6, 13-11, 11-5).

Anne Glassie in the second spot, Liddy Renner at #4 and Audrey Ellen at #7 all battled their respective opponents to the limit before falling in five games.

Against St. Lawrence (4-3), Middlebury claimed the first five points of the match, each coming in three games. Lily Bogle at #9 (11-6, 11-6, 11-1), Natasha Lowitt in the eighth spot (11-4, 11-1, 11-9) and Mira Chugh at #5 (11-9, 11-7, 11-7) gave the visitors a 3-0 lead.

Bostwick made it a 4-0 advantage with a victory at #6 (11-6, 11-2, 11-4), while Renner clinched the decisive fifth team point via a triumph at #4 (11-3, 11-6, 11-2).

Following a victory by St. Lawrence at #2, Middlebury's sixth and seventh points came from Ellen in the seventh spot (11-5, 11-6, 11-9) and Alexa Comai in a grueling five-game win at #3 (11-5, 11-7, 7-11, 4-11, 11-8).

The Saints rounded out the scoring with a three-game win at the top of the lineup for the 7-2 final.
