Panther Women Edged By Williams in Home Finale

The 14th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team saw a seven-match winning streak snapped, falling by a 6-3 score on Friday evening to #11 Williams in the team's final home match. The Panthers (7-3) return to the court on Saturday when they play a pair of matches in Canton, New York against #12 George Washington at 3:00 p.m. followed by a 5:00 p.m. contest at #19 St. Lawrence.

The Ephs (13-2) grabbed the first point at #9, but Lucy Bostwick earned a four-game victory in the sixth spot (11-4, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6) for her eighth-consecutive win. Williams rattled off four-consecutive wins at #8, #3, #5 and #2 to clinch the match and possess a 5-1 edge.

Middlebury made a 5-3 score with a five-game victory from Audrey Ellen at #7 (9-11, 11-6, 17-15, 7-11, 11-6) for her sixth-straight win, while Liddy Renner fought back from a 2-1 deficit for a five-game triumph in the fourth spot (4-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9, 11-7).

The Ephs completed the scoring via a five-game victory at the top of the ladder for the final 6-3 score.
