Men's Golf Finishes 20th at NCAA Championships

The Middlebury men's golf team finished tied for 20th overall at the 2016 NCAA Men's Golf Championship. The Panthers, who shot 317 on day two for a team total of 622, were unable to make the cut. Wednesday's action took place at the Par 72, 6,632-yard Midvale Country Club in Rochester, New York. Panther golfers started on the back nine for Tuesday's round.

Philippe Morin again paced the Panthers, carding a 78 on the second day of competition. After a 41 on the back nine, Morin turned up the heat on the front portion of the course, including back-to-back birdies on #6 and #7. He finished with six pars on the front for a 35.

Rodrigo Andrade had a birdie and two pars on the back nine, coming in with a 41. He shot a solid 37 on the front, including a birdie and six pars to finish with a 78.

Reid Buzby began his round with a birdie on 10, but four-straight bogeys gave him a 39 on the back nine. After three bogeys to begin the front nine, Buzby settled down with four pars and a birdie to conclude his round with a 78.

Bennett Doherty also opened his day with a birdie on 10, but suffered a triple-bogey on 17 to shoot a 41 on the back nine. Doherty parred just three holes on the front to finish his day with an 85.

Joe Ko was even after his first three holes, ending with a 40 on the back nine. On the front, Ko struggled down the stretch, going +9 on the final four holes to shoot an 88.
