The Middlebury men's golf team finished fifth among 19 teams competing at the JWU Wildcat Spring Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales. The Panthers took eight strokes off their day one score (323-315) to finish with a two-round total of 638. Williams won the event with a 630, followed by Endicott (636), Rhode Island College (636) and Manhattanville (637). Action took place at the 6,915-yard, par 71 Cranston Country Club in Cranston, Rhode Island.
Philippe Morin was Middlebury's top finisher at the event, finishing in a fourth-place tie with a two-day total (75-79) of 154. Fitz Bowen shaved eight strokes off his score on Saturday with a 76 on Sunday to finish tied for 19th with a 160. Rodrigo Andrade was five shots better on his second day, shooting a 78 to tie for 24th with a 161. Next up was Reid Buzby, who shot a pair of 82s to come in a 164, good for a tie for 37th place. Rounding out the team scorers was Bennett Doherty, who tied for 58th with a total of 169 strokes (83-86).
