Middlebury Places Ninth at Manhattanville/NYU Invitational

The Middlebury men's golf team finished the two-day Manhattanville/New York University Spring Invitational in ninth place with a team score of 639 (319-320). Skidmore topped the 11-team field at 603 (299-304), while Williams finished second at 618 (320-298). The tournament was held at the par 71, 6,547-yard Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The Panthers compete again next weekend at the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Spring Opener.

Philippe Morin paced Middlebury on the second day shooting a team-best 75. Paired with his 78 in the opening round, Morin climbed five spots on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 10th place at 153. Bennett Doherty carded an 80 on Sunday to tie for 15th overall with a two-day total of 155. Reid Buzby earned a combined score of 164 (84-80), shooting four strokes better on the second day to end the tournament in a tie for 45th place. Eduardo Ramos (82-87) and Graham Kenter (84-85) tied for 55th as each player totaled 169 strokes. 

Skidmore's Tim Manwaring was the overall medalist, boasting a two-day score of 143 (69-74).

Middlebury's Joe Ko, who played as an individual, shot a 74 on the second day and finished tied for fifth overall with a two-day total of 150.
