Women's Squash Drops Decision to Drexel at CSA Team Nationals

The 15th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team fell to #10 Drexel by a 7-2 score on Friday evening in the Kurtz Cup quarterfinal round at the CSA National Team Championship. The event is being hosted by Yale at the Brady Squash Center. The Panthers return to action Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. in a consolation semifinal match against #14 Franklin & Marshall. Middlebury squared off with the Diplomats on January 17 at Williams, when Franklin & Marshall came away with a 7-2 victory.

The Panther victories on Friday were posted by Lucy Bostwick at #6 and Caroline Jahrling in the #7 spot. Bostwick cruised in three games over Abigail Kaplan by scores of 11-7, 11-4 and 11-5, while Jahrling jumped out to a 2-1 lead and hung on for a five-game victory against Maria Diagama (9-11, 11-2, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7).

The Dragons picked up three-game victories in six of their seven wins, as Middlebury's Alexa Comai took the opening game at #5, but Drexel's Elisabeth Money grabbed the next three for the four-game triumph (4-11,11-3,11-7,11-7).
