Box Score The seventh-ranked Middlebury women's hockey team extended its conference regular-season unbeaten streak to 28 games (23-0-5) with a 2-0 road victory Friday at Williams (12-10-1, 8-7-0) in Lansing Chapman Arena. The two teams return to the ice on Saturday night in Middlebury's Kenyon Arena at 7:00 p.m. in a "Pink the Rink" game. Fans are encouraged to make a donation at the door in support of the "Face Off Against Breast Cancer." Attendees are also encouraged to wear pink to the games to show your support for the cause.
Headed into tomorrow's regular-season finale, the Panthers are in first place in the league standings, one point ahead of second-place Amherst, who hosts Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m.
Middlebury (16-4-3, 12-0-3) took a 1-0 lead 6:29 into the game on the power play via the ninth goal of the season from Jessica Young. Elizabeth Wulf picked up her ninth assist of the season on the score, while Maddie Winslow earned her 16th helper.
The Panthers tacked on an insurance goal at the 15:42 mark of the middle period. Katherine Jackson was the recipient of a nifty pass from Rachael St. Clair, as Jackson skated in on the right side one-on-one against Eph goalie Julia Mini. Jackson lifted a wrister to the short side above the shoulder of Mini for her fifth of the season.
Williams finished with a 24-20 shots advantage in the game, as Middlebury goalie Julia Neuburger picked up her fourth shutout of the season with 24 saves between the pipes. Mini was credited with 18 stops for the Ephs. The Panthers went 1-4 with the extra skater, while Williams was 0-5.
