The Middlebury women's squash team recorded three victories on the road in matches last weekend during a trip to Maine. The 14th-ranked Panthers started things with a 6-3 victory over #18 Bates. Middlebury continued their winning ways Saturday with a pair of 8-1 wins over #23 Colby and #17 Bowdoin, respectively. The Panthers (4-1) have won four-consecutive matches and return to the court on Tuesday when they play a home match against #16 Amherst at 5:00 p.m.

In the victory over Bates, Isabel van der Linden grabbed the first match with a four-game victory for the Panthers at #9. The Bobcats evened the match at 1-1 with a victory at #6. The Panthers responded when Beatrijs Kuijpers posted a three-game win in the third slot and Alexa Comai at #5 in four games gave the visitors a lead for good. Other victories came from Hope Matthews in four games at #8, while Zoe Carey clinched the fifth team point via a three-game win at #4. Lucy Bostwick rounded out the Middlebury winners with a sweep at #7.

Against Colby, three-game victories were posted by Saskia Pownall-Gray at #1, Carey at #4, Caroline Jahrling in the sixth spot, Bostwick at #7 and Matthews at #8. The other two wins came in four games from Tiffany Hau in the #2 slot and Kuijpers a spot below.

The Panthers completed the weekend with the 8-1 victory over the Polar Bears. Kuijpers picked up her third victory in as many matches with a three-game decision #3, while Carey also went 3-0 with a five-game win at #4. Comai needed four games to earn her point at #5, while all other matches were secured by the Panthers in three games.
