The Middlebury men's golf team opened up its fall season at the two-day Williams Fall Invitational. The Panthers shot a two-day total of 630 (314-316) to finish in 12th place among 20 teams. Trinity won the event at the Taconic Golf Course with a 601, followed by host Williams (605). Middlebury returns to action next weekend when it hosts the annual Duke Nelson Tournament at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
Joe Ko led a tight pack of Panthers at the event, finishing in a tie for 27th-place with a two-day total of 156, including a 75 on day two. Graham Kenter was one stroke behind with a 157 (78-79) to tie for 31st place. Next for Middlebury was Rodrigo Andrade, who was a stroke back with a 158 (74-84), good for a 38th-place tie.
Rounding out the tight pack was Bennett Doherty, who shot rounds of 81 and 78 to finish with a 159, placing him in a tie for 45th place. Eduardo Ramos rounded out the Panthers with a 179 (91-88) for the weekend.
