Middlebury competed in its first match in the northeast this spring as the Panthers took part in the Manhattanville/NYU Spring Invitational, co-hosted by Manhattanville and New York University at the Forest Hill Field Club. The Panthers finished in a third-place tie with Skidmore, as both teams posted a 619 total. Williams and Rensselaer each shot a 617 to claim the team title. Middlebury is off next weekend before hosting the NESCAC Championship at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course on April 25-26.
Eric Laorr was second among 74 golfers competing over the weekend, carding a pair of 74s to finish with a 148. Tying for 15th-place was Charlie Garcia, who shot a 79 on day one and took three strokes off his day two score to finish with a 155. John Louie (78-80) and Fitz Bowen (79-79) each shot a 158 to finish in a 24th-place tie. Rounding out the team's scorers were Bennett Doherty (90-74), who shot a 164, and Rodrigo Andrade (85-81), who came in with a 166.
