Stephan Koenigsberger eclipsed his own school record in the 200 breaststroke as Middlebury finished seventh overall during the 2015 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship held inside the Middlebury College Natatorium. Williams took home the title with 2,066.5 points, while Amherst (1,579), Connecticut College (1,323), Tufts (1,086) and Bates (969) round out the top five. Bowdoin finished sixth with 778.5 points, while the Panthers racked up 688.
After yesterday's school-record effort in the 100 breaststroke, Koenigsberger lowered his own school mark Sunday with a runner-up finish and NCAA 'B' cut time of 2:02.43. That mark breaks the record of 2:04.09 he recorded during last year's conference meet at Bowdoin.
In the first event of the final evening, Michael McGean finished third in the 1,650 free with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 16:04.58.
During the 3-meter diving competition, Dylan Peters dove to a sixth-place finish with 384.20 points.
The 4x400 relay quartet of Bryan Cheuk, Koenigsberger, Jack McLaughlin and Paul Lagasse capped off the championship's final event with an eighth-place time of 3:07.81.
The Panthers will have over a month off from competition before members of the team who qualify will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships in Woodlands, Texas from March 18-21.
