The 14th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team earned its first victory of the season with a 6-3 triumph on the road Saturday over #19 Hamilton in the Little Squash Center. The Panthers (1-1) return to the court on the road Friday, January 8 when they play #15 Bates at 6:00 p.m. followed by matches with #23 Colby and Bowdoin on Saturday, January 9. 

Against the Continentals, the Panthers jumped out to wins in two of the first three matches on the court. Lucy Bostwick grabbed the first point at #6 with a three-game triumph, while Zoe Carey was victorious in the third slot in three before Hamilton secured its first point at #9. Middlebury's third team point came from Alexa Comai with a three-game win at #5, while Beatrijs Kuijpers made it 4-1 in favor of the Panthers with a triumph at #2.

The Continentals cut into the lead, making it a 4-2 Middlebury lead with a win at #8, but Tiffany Hau secured the decisive point for the Panthers with a three-game victory in the fourth spot. Hamilton's Rachel Newman posted a grueling five-game victory in the top spot over Middlebury's Saskia Pownall-Gray, but Caroline Jahrling earned the Panthers' sixth point with a three-game win at #7.
