Box Score The Middlebury men's basketball team remained undefeated as the Panthers improved to 9-0 with a 63-53 road win at Plattsburgh State (6-3). Middlebury returns to action on Friday when it opens NESCAC play at Bates.
The Panthers jumped out to a 10-4 lead behind five points from Jake Brown in the game's first seven minutes.
Leading 28-22 at the break, Middlebury saw Plattsburgh State score the first six points of the second half to knot the game at 28-28 at the 18:05 mark.
Middlebury held a 36-35 lead with 15:23 remaining before a 9-0 run gave them a 45-35 advantage. Four points from Dylan Sinnickson and a three from Nick Tarantino sparked the run.
The lead increased as the Cardinals went more than five minutes without a field goal as the Panthers took a 49-36 lead. Plattsburgh State came within six with 7:42 remaining, but Middlebury answered and extended its lead en route to the victory.
Sinnickson was one of four Panthers in double figures with a team-high 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Tarantino netted 11 points off the bench, while Hunter Merryman and Brown each scored 10. Brown dished out a game-high seven assists in the win.
Shamoy MacIntosh led Plattsburgh State with a game-high 15 points, while Ezra Hodgson added 10.
