The Panther swimming and diving teams completed the home dual meet portion of their schedules Saturday afternoon with a pair of tough tests against Williams. The seventh-ranked Eph men defeated host Middlebury by a 190.5-103.5 score, while the eighth-ranked Williams women cruised over #19 Middlebury 185-109. The teams return to action Friday and Saturday when they host the annual Middlebury Invitational. Action will begin on Friday at 5:30 p.m. while Saturday's events began at 9:30 a.m.
During the women's competition, Jamie Hillas picked up three event victories and lowered her own school record for the second time this winter in the 100 individual medley. She won the 50 breaststroke in a time of 29.69, the 200 breaststroke in 2:25.49 and claimed the 100 IM title with a time of 58.91, bettering her previous record she established back on January 10 by .59 seconds.
Middlebury's other individual event title came from Lydia Carpenter in the 50 free with a time of 24.77.
In men's action, Matthew Lantin won the 1000 free by more than nine seconds in a time of 9:49.29. Bryan Cheuk also recorded an event win during the 50 free, stopping the clock in 21.68, while Stephan Koenigsberger led the field to the wall during the 200 breaststroke with a mark of 2:11.61.
In the day's final event, the 400 free relay, the Panther men's team of Taylor Moore, Paul Lagasse, Jack McLaughlin and Cheuk were victorious with a time of 3:16.63.
