The Panther field hockey team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 4-1 NESCAC road win at Connecticut College (2-2) on Saturday afternoon. The third-ranked Panthers return to action on Sunday afternoon at Smith.

Connecticut College took a 1-0 lead 8:35 in when Berklee Vaillancourt scored with a shot to the right corner of the cage after a nice stick move.

Hollis Perticone tied the game at 1-1 when she tipped in a shot from Anna Kenyon.

Catherine Fowler scored her first of the season at 22:43, taking a feed from Pam Schulman to score on a two-on-one break to make it a 2-1 game at the break.

Caroline Knapp's first of her career came just 1:50 into the second half, as she drew the keeper out to get a look at an open cage.

The game's final goal came at the 57:26 mark as Fowler again scored on a two-on-one, as Annie Leonard earned the assist on Fowler's second tally.

Middlebury finished the contest with a 20-9 shots advantage, as well as a 13-5 edge in penalty corners. Emily Knapp finished with eight saves in goal to earn the win, while Ryley Van der Velde made a dozen stops for the Camels.
