Men's Tennis Handles Wesleyan

The eighth-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team (11-2, 3-0) picked up its fourth straight win and second in as many days, topping #29 Wesleyan (8-5, 3-4) by a score of 7-2 on the road. The Panthers will take on Trinity in a road match on Sunday.

The Panthers took 2-3 doubles matches for an early lead.  Alex Johnston and Andrew Lebovitz defeated Jake Roberts and Sam Rudovsky 8-5 in the top spot, while Brantner Jones and Palmer Campbell picked up an 8-4 victory over Cameron Hicks and Greg Lyon at #2.

In singles play, Johnston gutted out a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 win at #1 singles over Roberts. Middlebury had little trouble in spots 3-6, with four straight-set victories.

Jones (6-1, 6-2), Ari Smolyar (7-5, 6-1), Courtney Mountifield (6-2, 6-1) and Jackson Frons (6-0, 6-2) were all victorious.
