Julian Wu of the #19 Middlebury men's tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Individual Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

HIGHLIGHTS

• In his opening-round competition against the University of Mary Washington's Asher Willenborg, the Panther won the final three games of the opening set for a 6-3 decision. Wu advanced to the round of 16 after coming out the victor in three of the last four games for a 6-4 win.
• Later in the day, the Panther squared off with top-seeded Advik Mareedu from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in his second-round match. Wu dropped the opening frame 6-1 before ending his season with a 6-2 decision in the second set.

NOTES

• The meeting between Willenborg and Wu was the first this year. The showdown between the senior and Mareedu was the second this spring, as the pair squared off in California with the Stag earning a 6-1, 6-2 triumph.

Wu concluded his career with an impressive 82-25 record in a Middlebury uniform, including a 21-7 mark this season.
