Connecticut College recorded six-straight goals en route to a 6-3 NESCAC victory over Middlebury during men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium. The Panthers will hit the road and battle Springfield on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., while Conn. hosts Wheaton on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.

Middlebury (1-2, 0-2) jumped on the scoreboard first with a pair of first-quarter goals. Jon Broome scored an unassisted tally with 9:42 left for his fourth goal of the season. With less than five minutes left in the quarter, the Panthers took advantage of their lone man-up opportunity of the afternoon when Stephen Seymour laced a shot from the left slot on a pass from Broome.

The score remained a two-goal Middlebury advantage until just over a minute into the second quarter when the Camels tallied their lone goal of the opening half. Derek Bertolini worked his way around the Middlebury net and tossed in a wrap-around shot into the lower left corner.

Out of the halftime break, Conn. (2-1, 1-0) took the lead with four unanswered goals in the third quarter. Tyler Hegarty scored an unassisted goal following a rebound off his initial shot with 13:25 left. With 6:27 showing on the clock, Briggs Barton gave the visitors the lead for good when he rifled a shot into the upper right corner from about 10 yards out.

Bertolini had a hand in the final three goals for the Camels. With 5:15 and 1:41 left in the third, Bertolini found Chad Sawyer and Thomas Woessner on passes from behind the goal. Conn. recorded its final goal of the game less than a minute into the fourth quarter when Bertolini found Hegarty who bounced a shot in from seven yards out.

The Panthers broke the three-period scoring drought with 4:23 left when Chris Peterson laced a shot from the left wing from 12 yards out on a pass from Broome. The Camels kept the Panther comeback attempt in check and picked up the victory.

Middlebury held a slight 31-29 advantage in shots and a 25-23 edge in ground balls. In net, Nate Gaudio had a solid afternoon with 13 saves for Middlebury, while Bobby Bleistein tallied 15 stops for the Camels.
