Dummer, Filipelli, Kern and McGloin logged all-region recognition.
Four members of the Middlebury men's lacrosse team have been tabbed New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Region selections. Drew Dummer was chosen as a second-team honoree, while Noah Filippelli and Hayden Kern earned spots on the third team. Ryan McGloin closed out the Panther contingent with an honorable mention.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Dummer (Second Team)
- Dummer logs his initial NEILA All-Region honor.
- The defender finished his career as the all-time leader in caused turnovers (93) and surpassed 100 ground balls.
- He led the Panther contingent with 36 caused turnovers and scooped up 33 rollers over 17 contests.
- Dummer forced two or more miscues in nine contests, including a career-high six against Williams.
- Filippelli (Third Team)
- The faceoff specialist earns regional accolades for the first time.
- Filippelli had a standout campaign as the Panthers' primary force at the dot. He led the squad with 206 victories and 103 ground balls.Â
- His .628 faceoff winning percentage is tied for the fourth-best mark in a single season.
- The junior also scored the first goal of his Middlebury career as part of a four-tally spurt that helped the squad to an 11-8 victory over Union.
- Kern (Third Team)
- Kern tallies his first all-region selection.
- The senior goalie started all 17 contests in net, making 213 saves in nearly 1,000 minutes of game action.
- Kern surpassed Paul Scheufele '80 on the all-time career stops list. The Panther finishes his career with 867 saves.
- The Westlake, Texas product logged a .518 save percentage, 224 ground balls and 50 caused turnovers over 77 contests.
- McGloin (Honorable Mention)
- The sophomore secured his initial all-region praise.
- McGloin forced seven turnovers and secured 36 ground balls in his second campaign.
- The midfielder also logged the first three assists of his Panther career.
