The 10th-ranked Panther men's tennis team maintained its unblemished record with a 7-2 victory Monday afternoon against Shorter. Middlebury's perfect record will be tested when the Panthers return to action Tuesday afternoon against Georgia Gwinett (12-0), currently ranked third in the latest NAIA national poll.

In doubles play, the 24th-ranked tandem of Alex Johnston and Andrew Lebovitz cruised to an 8-0 victory over Louis Tourtois and Alexis Catillon in the top spot. In the third flight, the Panther duo of Peter Heidrich and Ari Smolyar also didn't surrender a game in an 8-0 victory against Codie Carr and Robert Watson.

The Hawks grabbed their lone point in doubles when Marc Guerry and Arturo Lifshitz defeated the top-ranked team of Brantner Jones and Palmer Campell, 8-4.

In singles, the Hawks secured their second team point when Guerry defeated Johnston by a 7-6 (3), 6-2 score. The Panthers rebounded and took the other five singles matches in straight sets. Campbell, ranked 18th, picked up a win at #2 by scores of 7-5, 6-3 over Tourtois. Jones battled Catillon in the third slot before picking up a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win, while Courtney Mountifield breezed past Lifshitz at #4 (6-0, 6-2).

The Panthers surrendered just three games combined in the bottom two matches. Jackson Frons bested Watson by set scores of 6-0, 6-1 in the fifth spot, while Jack Welch defeated Carr 6-2, 6-0 at #6.
