Hillas Breaks Own School Mark, Sixth in the 100 Breaststroke During NCAA Meet

Middlebury junior Jamie Hillas broke her own school record twice and earned individual All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke during the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day event is co-hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation in the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

In the morning preliminaries, Hillas swam the sixth-fastest time of 1:03.57, lowering her own school record in the event she established during last month's NESCAC meet. She carried the morning's momentum into the championship final, and once again lowered her own school record touching the wall in 1:03.07. Hillas' performance gained 13 team points.

Also competing on an individual basis was Andrea Tibbetts who finished 31st in the 100 back (57.97).

The fourth and final day of competition is scheduled to begin Saturday morning with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m., while the finals are slated for 6:00 p.m.
