Play Complete At Men's Tennis Invitational

The Panther men's tennis team hosted its annual invitational tournament over the weekend on campus. Middlebury players took home titles in three of six brackets.

Senior Teddy Fitzgibbons (Mission Hills, Kan.) won the “A” singles flight, coming from a set down for a 1-6, 6-3, 10-7 win in the finals. Sophomore Palmer Campbell (Nashville, Tenn.) won the “B” crown, topping junior teammate Courtney Mountifield (Bedford, N.H.), 6-2, 6-2. In the “C” flight, sophomore Ari Smolyar (Short Hills, N.Y.) advanced to the finals before falling, 6-3, 7-5. Both senior Andrew Lebovitz (Weston, Mass.) and sophomore Jackson Frons (Encino, Calif.) advanced to the semifinals in the “C” and “B” brackets respectively.

In doubles play, Mountifield and Smolyar were winners the “A” flight, earning a 9-8 win in the finals over teammates Campbell and junior Brantner Jones (Winnetka, Ill.).
