Middlebury won 18 of 24 draw controls on its way to a 15-8 win over #16 Tufts (5-4, 2-4) on Kohn Field. The third-ranked Panthers (10-0, 7-0) received eight of those draw controls from Liza Herzog, who also added two goals and an assist in the win. Middlebury is on the road for its next three contests, including a match-up at top-ranked Trinity next Saturday.

Leading 1-0, Middlebury and Tufts exchanged goals, both taking place with a player advantage for each squad. The Panthers then rattled off three straight goals to take a 5-1 lead with 16:09 remaining. Emma Kramer scored twice during the run, while Katie Ritter assisted on a pair of goals.

Tufts came back to score the next two goals, including a quick-stick goal from Lindsey Walker to Kaitlyn Leidl at the 13:28 mark. Ritter answered for the Panthers with a pair of goals, including one on a free position shot to give her team a 7-3 advantage with 5:09 remaining. Tufts' Gabby Horner scored two of the final three goals of the half, as her team trailed 8-5 at the intermission.

Middlebury scored the first seven goals of the second half to put the game out of reach. Laurel Pascal and Ellen Halle each scored on free position goals, before Herzog scored on a feed from Margaret Souther. Pascal netted her third of the game, Halle scored on a free position, while Herzog found Kramer at the 8:17 mark to make it 14-5. Megan Griffin scored her first career goal with 7:00 remaining with a hard shot from the outside after a feed from Souther.

Caroline Ross broke up the seven-goal run with 4:31 remaining, scoring after a restart in traffic. The Jumbos added late goals by Horner and Kerry Eaton, both with a player down, to make it a 15-8 final.

Kramer finished with three goals for Middlebury, while Halle and Pascal each had three goals and an assist. Ritter scored two with two helpers, Souther had a goal with two assists, while Heather Marrison picked up three ground balls. Alyssa Palomba made five stops in 50 minutes, while Katie Mandigo earned a save in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Horner's three goals paced Tufts, while Eaton scored twice with an assist and Walker added a goal and two helpers. Kate Applegate finished with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Tess Shapanka earned five saves in goal.
