Five different pitchers combined on 16 innings of shutout ball to lead Trinity to 4-0 and 1-0 win against visiting Middlebury. The Bantams improve to 20-13 and extends their winning streak to six games, while the Panthers fall to 9-16.
Pat Carbone and Ben Goldberg combined on a five-hit shutout in the opener, as Carbone yielded five hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 3.1 innings and Goldberg did not allow a hit with four walks and four K's. Alex Almeida was 2-3 with a double, a triple, two runs, and an RBI for the Bantams offense, while Tom Rafferty had two hits for Middlebury.
In game two, Trinity blew open a 3-0 game with five runs in the fourth inning, while Scott Huley went five innings and allowed one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts on the hill. Almeida was 3-3 with three runs and two doubles, while Michael Rueger was also 3-3 and added two runs, a double, and a stolen base. Rafferty had one of three Panther hits in the nightcap.
