Track Teams Compete At ECAC's

The Panther indoor track teams were in action on Saturday, competing at the ECAC Championships hosted by N.Y. Armory and the Tufts Last Chance meet. Middlebury broke two school records over the weekend, with athletes looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Top eight earned All-ECAC honors, as junior Sam Craft (Hamden, Conn.) broke the school record with a second place finish in the 1,000 (2:30.41). Placing second in the 60-meter hurdles was junior Kevin Chu (Burlington, Vt.) in 8.28 seconds, while rookie Kathleen Leib (Morristown, N.J.) was sixth in the 1,000 (3:04.46). Placing eighth for Middlebury were junior Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) in the 200 (22.47) and first-year racer Lucas Carpinello (Delmar, N.Y.) in the 1,000 (2:32.24).

At Tufts, senior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) set a new school record en route to a win in the 600 with a time of 1:34.98. Sophomore Alison Maxwell (Port Angeles, Wash.) earned a win in the mile (4:49.53), while senior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) was a victor in the 5,000 (16:51.28). Senior Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) finished second in the 5,000 (14:44.63), while sophomore Taylor Shortsleeve (Medfield, Mass.) won the high jump (6'1.5”).
