Women's Swimming and Diving

Swim Teams Entertain Williams

The Middlebury men's and women's swimming and diving teams were back in action on Saturday, hosting NESCAC foe Williams on campus. The women fell 178-122, while the men were defeated 196-102. Junior Ian MacKay (Vero Beach, Fla.) paced the men's team with wins in the 50 free (21.73) and 100 fly (51.59), while sophomore Jamie Hillas (Woodbridge, Conn.) led the women with victories in the 100 (1:05.57) and 200 (2:26.87) breaststroke events. Hillas also earned a second place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.94.

Finishing second in both the 100 back (44.43) and 200 back (1:58.93) for the men was senior Harry Anixter (Burlingame, Calif.). On the women's side, sophomore Courtney Haron (N. Kingstown, R.I.) came in second in the 200 free (1:57.58) and 500 free (5:18.51) events, while sophomore Ann Carpenter (Arlington, Va.) did the same in the 50 free (25.20) and 100 free (55.44).
