The Middlebury men's golf team opened the fall season with a third place finish at the 11-team St. Lawrence Invitational. Saturday's action was cancelled due to weather, leaving an 18-hole tourney on Sunday. The host school won the event with a 298, while the Panthers shot a 303.

Eric Laorr paced the team with a 75 on Sunday, followed by Rob Donahoe, Chris Atwood and Charlie Garcia, who each shot a 76. William Prince was one stroke back with a 77.
