Williams has a six stroke lead over Skidmore after one day of play at the 28th annual Duke Nelson Tournament. Action is taking place at the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College. The Ephs shot a 298, followed by Skidmore (306), Trinity (309) and Middlebury (310).

Chris Atwood sits in fourth place to lead the Panthers, shooting a three-over-par 74 on the first day of play. Eric Laorr shot a 77,  followed by Rob Donahoe's 79. Charlie Garcia (80) and William Prince (82) rounded out the Middlebury squad.
