Middlebury saw its season come to an end with a 15-7 loss to Salisbury in the NCAA semifinals at Montclair State in New Jersey. The Panthers were making their 15th trip to the final four, ending their season with a 15-5 mark. Top-ranked Salisbury improved to 22-0 overall and will make its fifth trip to the NCAA Championship game on Sunday.

Middlebury jumped out with a pair of goals in 30 seconds to take a 2-0 lead. Liz Garry opened the scoring at the 24:51 mark, cutting to the goal after a quick feed from Liza Herzog. Emma Kramer found the back of the net in similar fashion at 24:21, converting a feed from Herzog.

Salisbury answered quickly with three goals in 46 seconds, beginning at the 22:43 mark. Trailing 3-2, Michaela Colbert drove to the goal and scored with a lefty shot to tie the game at 3-3 at the 19:09 mark.

Trailing 4-3, Margaret Souther scored her team-leading 39th of the season, ripping a side shot from in front. The game was tied at 4-4 with the Panthers scoring four goals on four shots.

The Sea Gulls came right back with a pair in 48 seconds, taking a 6-4 advantage with 10:20 remaining. Middlebury's Katie Ritter drew two defenders before finding Colbert for her second of the game to cut the lead to 6-5.

Salisbury closed the first half with goals at 5:16 and 3:40, including the 68th of the season from Lauren Feuahrens to take an 8-5 lead into the break.

Kramer brought the Panthers within two early in the second half, scoring with a great individual move with a player advantage.

Salisbury answered with 23:50 remaining, with a nice pass from Feusahrens to Allie Wheatley for the 9-6 lead. The Sea Gulls gained some breathing room at the 16:39 mark with a goal from Feusahrens, her third of the game. Salisbury kept coming, scoring at 13:28 and 11:43 to take a 12-6 lead.

Garry ended the four-goal run for Salisbury with a free position tally at the 10:11 mark to cut the lead to 12-7. Salisbury did not let up, scoring the final three goals of the game to come away with a 15-7 victory.

Garry paced the Panthers with three goals, followed by Colbert with a pair. Catherine Fowler ended with five draw controls, while Herzog had two assists and three ground balls. Lily Nguyen finished with seven saves in goal.

Fuesahrens led Salisbury with five goals and three assists, while Allie Wheatley added five goals with one helper. Ashton Weatley finished with four saves in goal. Salisbury held a 29-16 advantage in shots, with Middlebury holding a 20-18 lead in ground balls.

Garry and Herzog were named to the all-tournament team.
