Men's Golf

Men's Golf Places Second At Williams

The Middlebury College men's golf team placed second among six NESCAC teams competing at the Williams Spring NESCAC Opener. The Ephs won the event with a 622, followed by the Panthers (629), Amherst (633) and Hamilton (634). The afternoon rain, sideways wind, and cold temperatures at Taconic Golf Club made scoring extremely difficult for the field on day two.

Sophomore Max Alley (Albany, N.Y.) turned in a 77 and 79 at the event to finish in sixth place with a 156 to lead Middlebury. Finishing in a tie for ninth were sophomore Chris Atwood (Rochester, N.H.) and rookie Eric Laorr (Eden Prairie, Minn.), both shooting 76/82 for 158. Sophomore Rob Donahoe (Canton, Mass.) was 17th with a 160, followed by junior William Prince (New Canaan, Conn.) in 19th (161) and first-year player Charlie Garcia (Garden City, N.J.) in 22nd (162).
