The Middlebury College indoor track team took part in the Dartmouth Classic, with several athletes turning in impressive performances. Junior Nick Montello (Orwell, Vt.) won the long jump event, setting a new school record with a leap of 21'1.25”. Junior Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) was the other top male performer, winning the 3,000 in 8:39.82, while placing third in the mile (4:18.15).
Sophomore Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) finished second in the high jump, qualifying for the NCAA's with a 5'6” effort. Also qualifying was junior Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.), who finished second in the mile with a time of 5:01.99. The women's 4x400 relay team of senior Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) and sophomores Molly McLean (East Islip, N.Y.), Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) and Sarah O'Brien (Wellesley, Mass.) won the event with a time of 4:07.80. Ryan-Davis picked up a win in the 800 (2:19.83), while senior Amanda Lee (Lincoln, Neb.) finished second in the 3,000 (10:21.19).
