Women's Hockey With 11th Shutout Of The Season

Senior goaltender Alexi Bloom won her 40th career game for Middlebury as the Panthers (17-4-1, 13-1-1 NESCAC) picked up a 4-0 road win at Colby (8-15-0, 4-11-0). A win or a tie tomorrow at Bowdoin will clinch the top seed for the Panthers in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. A loss would result in a coin toss to determine the top seed between Middlebury and Amherst.

Middlebury scored two goals in the first period and added two more in the third as Bloom stopped 16 shots for the shutout. Madeline Joyce scored at 13:34 of the first period and Nora Bergman added a second goal for the Panthers about three minutes later. Anna McNally and Lauren Greer added third period goals in the win.

Brianne Wheeler finished with 40 saves for Colby.
