Swimming & Diving Visits Amherst

The Panther swimming and diving teams returned to action with a meet at Amherst on Saturday. The Panther men suffered a 162-116 loss, while the women were defeated 173-127.

Five different men won events on the afternoon, including junior Tyler Sandoval (Westerly, R.I.), who captured the 100 fly in 49.16. Junior Ethan Litman (Bethesda, Md.) was victorious in the 100 free with a time of 49.16, while sophomore Joe Tamposi (Hernando, Fla.) captured the 200 back with a time of 2:07.97. The other winner for the Panthers was first-year racer Teddy Kuo (Bayside, N.Y.), who earned a victory with a time of 5:02.89 in the 500 free.

On the women's side, the 200 medley relay team of sophomore Andrea Tibbetts (Dover, Mass.), junior Nora Daly (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and rookies Jamie Hillas (Woodbridge, Conn.) and Maddy Berkman (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) won the event with a time of 1:49.23. Winning a pair of individual events for the women was Hillas, who captured the 100 breaststroke (1:06.77) and the 200 IM (2:14.33). Rookie Courtney Haron (N. Kingstown, R.I.) was a winner in the 200 free (1:58.07), Tibbetts earned a victory in the 100 back (58.81), while Berkman placed first in the 100 fly (59.05).
