Middlebury scored four unanswered goals in the third period on its way to a 4-0 victory over N.E.C. (5-9-2, 3-6-1). The game was scoreless after two periods, with Middlebury holding a 28-8 shots advantage in the period, leading by a 47-16 margin in the game. The Panthers (5-5-3, 3-4-2) return to action on Saturday when they host St. Anselm at 4:00, while the Pilgrims visit Williams.

The Panthers scored the first goal of the game at the 9:18 mark, when Martin Drolet found Tucker Donahoe on the left wing for a quick snap shot. Just 19 seconds later, Charlie Strauss skated through the zone and scored his third of the year on the power play.

Middlebury made it a 3-0 game at the 11:24 mark with a five-on-three power play goal. Charles Nerbak's shot from the left wing was saved, before J.D. Vermette potted his third of the year on the rebound. The Panthers struck for another five-on-three goal at 12:58, with Ken Suchoski skating through the slot and scoring with a high wrister.

The third period was riddled with 14 penalties and several power play opportunities, most of them for the Panthers.

John Yanchek made 16 saves in goal to earn his first shutout of the season for the Panthers. Aaron Harvey made 43 saves for the Pilgrims.
