Middlebury Finishes Sixth At Duke Nelson

Rensselaer trailed Manhattanville by one stroke after one day of play, but shaved six strokes off their score on day two to capture the 27th Duke Nelson Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Red Hawks ended the tourney with a two-day total of 606, seven strokes ahead of St. Anselm (613). Manhattanville (615), Hamilton (616) and Skidmore (616) rounded out the top five schools. Host Middlebury finished the weekend in sixth place among 25 teams, with a two-day total of 619. Wesleyan's Peter Taylor earned medalist honors with a 76 and 70 for a 146. Action took place on the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College.

Brian Cady led the Panthers with a two-day total of 150 (8th), including a one-over-par 72 on day two. Andrew Emerson finished in 12th place overall with a 152, followed by William Prince, who shot a 158. John Szmyd (159) and Jim Levins (162) rounded out the Middlebury golfers.
