The Middlebury College track and field teams opened up their spring seasons with a meet at Pt. Loma Nazarene University in California. Sophomore Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) won the 1500 in 4:39.52, while junior Amanda Lee (Lincoln, Neb.) captured the steeplechase (11:35.76). Sophomore Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) set a new school record for the men with a third place finish in the 1500 (3:58.25).
First-year racer Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) placed third in the 5000 (18:05.24), sophomore Mia Martinez (Ridgewood, N.J.) was fourth in the 100 hurdles (15.35), while junior Uma Tantri (Simsbury, Conn.) was fifth in the javelin (96'8"). In the 400 hurdles, senior Laura Dalton (Simsbury, Conn.) was third (1:05.95) and junior Alice Wisener (Ridgewood, N.J.) was fourth (1:07.58), while rookie Emily Dodge (Auburn, Maine) was third in the triple jump (36'3.5"). First-year athlete Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) came in second in the high jump (5'3.75"), while sophomore Jocelyn Breton (Wilmington, Conn.) was third in the pole vault (9'.25") to round out the top five finishers. The 4x400 relay team of senior Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.), sophomore Rebecca Fanning (Ipswich, Mass.), rookie Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) and Dalton finished second with a time of 4:04.61.
On the men's side, sophomore John Montroy (Mahway, N.J.) came in third in the 100 hurdles (15.45), junior Adam Dede (West Chester, Ohio) was fifth in the pole vault (13'9.25"), while sophomore Silas Wong (Needham, Mass.) placed fourth in the triple jump (43'5"). Senior Michael Waters (Bedford, Mass.) came in fourth (3:58.55) in the 1500, followed by first-year racer John Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) in fifth (4:00.70), while senior Victor Guevara (Short Hills, N.J.) was fourth in the 5000 (15:03.21).
