Middlebury put on a late charge but it wasn't enough, as the Panthers fell 8-7 at in-state foe St. Michael's on Doc Jacobs Field. Junior Danny Seymour went 3-for-5 with a run scored, classmate Erich Enns was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, while rookie Zach Roeder finished 2-for-4 with a run driven in. Senior Mark Shimrock finished the day going 1-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and driven in. Andrew Somberg took the loss, pitching 1.2 innings, giving up five runs on four hits and striking out two.

For Saint Michael's, senior Joe Gil went 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI, junior Matt Beaulieu went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, and junior Tim Pilczak finished 1-for-1 with two RBI and two walks. Chad Estey went 1-for-3 and drove in two. Austin Ziskie earned the win, pitching six innings, while giving up three runs on five hits and striking out four.

Saint Michael's jumped out to an early 5-2 lead through the first three innings, with the three of the five runs coming in the first inning. A Gil RBI single followed by a Pilczak bases loaded walk started the scoring for the Purple Knights. Sophomore Ben Yodzio also delivered an RBI single in the inning. The Panthers added a run in the eighth inning on an Andrew Matson RBI ground out to head into the final inning down 8-4. In the ninth, Shimrock connected on a two-run triple which was followed by a Roeder RBI sacrifice fly, but it wasn't enough as Saint Michael's held on for the one-run victor.
