Middlebury scored three third period goals on its way to a 6-0 win over Hamilton in the opening weekend of NESCAC play. The Panthers held a 28-13 shots advantage in the game, as the teams combined for 14 penalties on the afternoon.

Middlebury came out strong early once again, scoring a pair of goals 2:14 apart in the game's first 6:17. Anna McNally opened the scoring with a shot from the left face-off circle after a feed from Maggie Melberg on the power play. The lead doubled at 6:17 as Melberg skated down the slot and snapped a shot to the top left corner of the net for the 2-0 lead.

Following a scoreless second period, the Panthers broke the game open with three goals in a 2:12 span in the third. Heidi Woodworth scored for the Panthers on the power play, finishing off a rebound from just outside the crease at 2:52 for her first career goal. Ashley Bairos fed a pass to McNally, whose shot from the slot trickled through the goaltender at 4:07 for the second goal of the run. The lead increased to 5-0 as Grace Waters snapped a wrister into the far side of the net from the left face-off circle. Bairos ended the game's scoring with a power play goal at 12:25 to make it a 6-0 final. Alexi Bloom made 13 stops for Middlebury, while Meg Shine earned 22 saves for Hamilton.
